The Tech Golfer

About The Tech Golfer

An independent UK guide to golf technology, built to help you spend your money well and work out what your kit really does for your game.

The Tech Golfer helps UK golfers choose the right rangefinder, watch, launch monitor or trolley and work out what to do with it. It's run by Tom Armstrong and it isn't owned by any golf brand or shop.

What we do

Golf technology is expensive and the claims on the box are hard to compare. So we read the makers' specifications, the rules and the independent tests, then put it all in plain English. Each golf gadget guide tells you who a product suits, who it doesn't and what to check before you buy.

We also build free golf tools you can use straight away, from a handicap calculator to a simulator room planner. They work in your browser, with no sign-up.

What makes us different

  • Every guide lists its sources and the date we checked them.
  • We never claim to have tested something we haven't.
  • We don't give products scores out of ten.
  • We say plainly how the site makes money.

The full method is on our how we choose page.

How the site is paid for

Some links to retailers may earn us commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. Our affiliate disclosure explains exactly how that works.
